Gloucestershire Chronicle
The Gloucestershire Chronicle was a weekly paper founded in Gloucester in 1833 by supporters of the Conservative party and was the main competitor to the Liberal Gloucester Journal. It was a political and literary journal which represented landed and commercial interest and supported the Established Church.
Gloucestershire Chronicle Ltd was bought by Northcliffe Newspapers Group Ltd in 1928 and the GloucestershireChronicle was incorporated into the Gloucester Journal which was already owned by Northcliffe.
